Lauren E. Burke

Ms. Burke, Senior Trademark Counsel to the firm, focuses her practice on global trademark clearance, prosecution, licensing, and enforcement. She is particularly skilled in the clearance and selection of trademarks, securing trademark registrations, and policing and maintenance of trademarks in the United States and abroad. Ms. Burke’s practice also includes trade dress assessment and copyright protection and enforcement.  

Before joining the firm, Ms. Burke was most recently a Senior Associate in the intellectual property group of a large, international law firm. She has also served as Trademark Counsel for a New York City-based brand management and licensing company, and as a Trademark Examining Attorney at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), where she examined trademark applications to determine federal registration and presented arguments to the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB).

A New Jersey native, Ms. Burke attended the University of Virginia where she majored in psychology, and subsequently, earned her J.D. degree from Howard University School of Law. Later, Ms. Burke enrolled at American University, Washington College of Law, and graduated with an LL.M. degree in law and government, specializing in intellectual property and information policy.
