Ms. Johnson, Junior Trademark Counsel to the firm, focuses her practice on trademark and copyright law. She provides strategic counseling and guidance in copyrights, digital rights management, and all phases of trademark and brand management, including trademark prosecution, maintenance, licensing, and enforcement.
A native of Raleigh, NC, Ms. Johnson majored in Computer Science and minored in mathematics at Spelman College and went on to receive a Master’s degree from the University of Georgia in Instructional Design and Development. Upon graduation, she worked as a Technical Consultant for Accenture. While there her services were concentrated in network design and infrastructure, providing a full range of services from assessments, solutions architecture, quality assurance, deployments and testing of unified communications solutions.
Ms. Johnson went on to study law at the College of William and Mary, where she focused on intellectual property. She served as a summer intern at the USPTO in the Patent Experience Extern Program, and would later intern with in-house counsel for a corporation in Richmond, VA. As an intern, she provided counsel and guidance on several trademark clearance matters, both internationally and domestically. She would continue to provide counsel as part of the legal department of this corporation upon graduation.
